The Lineage of the Teachers

"As long as human beings search for Truth, there will be teachers of Truth. When the "I" surrenders, only Truth remains."*

In the 20th century Advaita Vedanta was resurrected by the Indian masters Shri Ramana Maharshi and Shri H.W.L. Poonja, by the American spiritual teacher Gangaji and by others, and is today, mostly referred to as "Advaita" or "neo-Advaita". Again and again OM refers to this tradition and these teachers, particularly, to Gangaji:

"I am a child, she is my mother. Her breath blew off the dust from my eyes, her clarity directed my mind, her sharpness destroyed my arrogance, her softness melted the ice around my heart. Her love absorbed me and I drowned - in the eternal source of the Ganges."*

"All evidence and witnessing of the great masters have arisen in this moment"*

For OM, Advaita comprehends the timeless evidence of awakened masters from all traditions. The teaching of Jesus, the teaching of Gautama Buddha, the teaching of Mevlana Rumi, the teachings of the Chassidian rabbis - they all aim at the heart of Being, point to the mysterious oneness, the union with the divine that can only be experienced but not taught.

"Advaita is not a teaching. Advaita is the end of teaching. It is for those who are ready for this end. Never before in the recent history of man has this end been made so available to as many humans as it is now. Advaita can exist only for a moment - but this moment is eternal."*
