Surrounded by expansive fields and meadows, close to nature and quietly situated near the Hanseatic city of Wismar and Lake Schwerin, you will find Gut Saunstorf – Place of Stillness.

The manor house is located in the small village of Saunstorf, surrounded by old trees, a beautiful manor park and its own monastery garden. Park and manor house are listed architectural places of interest.

The former ruins of the manor house were discovered by the spiritual wisdom teacher OM C. Parkin. He revived the place as an interdenominational monastery, a refuge for contemplation and silence, serving the community of students and welcoming visitors looking for a meaningful life.

In 2010, the fully restored manor house opened its doors as a monastery for guests. It is a place for recreation, retreat and silence with a variety of events and hospitality offers that have grown over the years.

Silence is becoming more and more valuable for us human beings in today’s hectic times. Many people are looking for a time-out to recharge, leave stress and time pressure behind and find nourishment for their souls in a special place.
