Days of contemplation in our monastery can help you to reconnect with yourself and lead you inward. In everyday life the connection to ourselves is often lost in the midst of all the appointments, tasks and activities. Despite all our efforts, the longed-for fulfilment does not come, the soul remains restless.

After a few days of conscious time-out in outer silence, you can rediscover your inner balance and access to yourself. This inner connection forges a pleasant balance from which you can draw new strength and joy.

As a modern monastery near Wismar, the manor house Gut Saunstorf offers you an ideal setting for such a time-out.

These are the essentials Gut Saunstorf – Place of Stillness is devoted to. We warmly invite you to spend some time with yourself in this special place.

It is a silent and at the same time creative place, and in this force field it is possible to set a new course, to allow changes and to tread new paths.

The manor house is open to you all year round. If you feel the need for a silent retreat, we will be happy to welcome you as our guest.

The place offers you space for recreation and relaxation as well as opportunities to explore what moves you in your innermost heart.

 

During a time of contemplation at the monastery, you customize your day entirely according to your needs. You can spend time in the park, in the library – with true treasures of wisdom literature – or in the surrounding nature of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Baltic Sea.

The meditations in the morning and evening support you during your stay to focus on your inner self and let go of the stress of everyday life.

Lunch and dinner are held in silence for 15min of the meal time, so you can reflect on yourself also while eating.

There are regular open meetings of the monastic community on site, which you are welcome to attend if you wish.

You can also choose from a range of supportive treatments for your body. Here, therapists are on hand to offer you massages and body treatments.

You can come as a monastery guest all year round.
